Steelite International Wins Winter Olympics Contract

British manufacturer, Steelite International, has fulfilled an order to supply tableware to the 22nd Winter Olympic Games in Russia. Over 140,000 pieces have been produced to supply the 1,000 catering facilities in the main Olympic Village complex at the event, ranging from cafes and restaurants to Russian tea areas.
Steelite International located in Stoke on Trent, England has manufactured and shipped the tableware to Sochi, the host city, in time for the opening of the Games, which will run from 7-13 February 2014. The chinaware will also be used at the 11th Paralympic Winter Games, which runs from 7-16 March 2014.
The catering facilities cover an area of 40,000 square metres with four main restaurants for spectators including over 30,000 seats in the catering section and over 2.1 million additional services for the volunteers alone.
Steelite International’s representative in Russia, Central Europe Consultancy, was responsible for the negotiations for the contract with the Sochi Games Organising Committee and Komplexbar.
