Steelite International takes next step
6 January 2006
Steelite International has taken the next step in its strategic plan with the appointment of Kevin Oakes to the position of Managing Director and the commitment of long-term investment in the business secured through the Bank of Scotland.
Over the past three years, the company has evolved from a UK based manufacturer of ceramic tableware to become an international supplier of a design-led range of creative tabletop products to the worldwide hospitality market.
An extensive portfolio of both manufactured and sourced products that satisfy the needs of a demanding worldwide customer base gives Steelite International a unique and attractive position in its global market. Exports account for over sixty five percent of sales and further growth in overseas markets is a major contribution to the business strategy.
Kevin Oakes, now leading the established team, said:
“Progressive investment in both the business infrastructure and people development will ensure Steelite International continues its history of success with the expansion of new markets and the development of the tabletop products portfolio.
The team that directs the business maintains the strength of personal commitment which will be further enhanced by the appointment of key individuals who understand the hospitality industry that we serve.
Stability is essential to our objectives. The investment plan secures the future development of both home-based manufacturing and the expansion of our international market coverage”.
Richard Poole, Finance Director and Bernard Matthews, Production Director are joined by John Miles, President Steelite International USA to form the new Management Board. Ray Chadwick has decided to step down as Managing Director and has left the business.
