Steelite International see rises in sales
12 August 2009
Steelite International, leading manufacturer and supplier of innovative chinaware, based in Stoke-on-Trent, is riding the wave of the recession with sales up from £52.5 million in 2007 to £56 million in 2008.
Sales in North America have increased by 6% whilst the Australian market is also enjoying a rise following a £1.1 million order of crockery and cutlery by Melbourne’s Convention and Exhibition centre.
Profits dropped marginally from £7.4 million in 2007 to £6.5 million in 2008. This has been impacted by high energy costs and the company’s vision to further progress the business with investment in products, sales and marketing.
Kevin Oakes, Chief Executive of Steelite International said: “As everyone is aware, the current economic climate is very tough and is likely to remain so for the foreseeable future. I am delighted that despite the challenges faced by all in the market Steelite International remains a very successful company.”
